Our goal

Goal 1.png

The goal of Endgame Messaging Hub is to upend the narrative that California has to allow tobacco companies to not only exist, but to thrive in California.

We are seeking to shatter the paradigm that the tobacco industry deserves to continue to rake in billions made off the suffering of Californians.

The tobacco companies still cause the deaths of nearly 40,000 Californians and cost tax payers billions every single year.

THE STAKES

Big tobacco continues to evolve their products to target our kids. Our communities are now facing a nicotine crisis. More children and young adults are becoming addicted to new high-nicotine products such as large capacity vapes and nicotine pouches. Yet most parents, educators, and community leaders are unfamiliar with these products and how they place children’s health at risk.

The only reason tobacco companies are able to continue to addict our kids and bring death and disease to our friends and families is because we allow them to.

By ending the sale of and exposure to tobacco and nicotine products, we could enjoy the benefits of no commercial tobacco in our communities.

Local policies that either eliminate or substantially reduce sales and exposure to commercial tobacco bring us one step closer to our goal of ending commercial tobacco in California.

ENDGAME

The concept of endgame is not one specific policy proposal, but a roadmap to ending the tobacco epidemic in California. Through policies that reduce sales as well as exposure to commercial tobacco, we are making it harder for the tobacco industry to continue inflict death and disease on our friends and neighbors. Endgame is about making forward progress towards rolling up the welcome mat to Big Tobacco in California and making it clear, we are no longer inviting them into our communities to profit off of the harm they cause.

How we can help

We can help you think through the most persuasive arguments for decision makers in your community. The idea that we don’t have to allow Big Tobacco to exist in our communities is one that decision makers are still getting used to.
